New man in charge at Stroud and Swindon
Robin Maggs is the new manager of the Stroud and Swindon Building Society branch office in Fore Street, Trowbridge, having just taken over the keys from Wendy Simons.
Having previously been assistant manager at the Society’s Bristol Branch, Robin is keen to welcome all new and existing customers and to help them with their mortgage, savings and insurance queries.
Commenting on the recent budget, Robin said, "I was pleased to see the Chancellor extend the tax breaks on ISAS but less enthusiastic about the uplift in the level of stamp duty which still impacts heavily on first time buyers. This should have raised to about £150,000 to keep it in line with house price inflation." On his appointment, Robin said, "I am really looking forward to the challenge. As a top twenty building society we have lots to offer customers of all ages in terms of products and service and I hope to meet as many as possible in the coming months."
