| Laurence James – Chairman |
 Laurence has been a member of the Board since 1996 and was appointed as Chairman in April 2007. After graduating with a degree in Statistics from the University of Bath, Laurence joined W H Smith and developed a career in marketing and sales, culminating in him becoming Retail Sales Director. Since leaving W H Smith he has worked for the Pearson Group as Managing Director of Ladybird Books and now has his own retailing business.
He is married with 2 children and lives in Gloucestershire. |

| David Hill – Chief Executive |
 David joined the Society as Finance Director in June 2000 and became Chief Executive in 2006. He is also a director of the Society’s mortgage subsidiary, Stroud and Swindon Mortgage Company Limited. After graduating from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, David trained with Ernst and Young, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1982. Prior to joining the Society his career had been predominantly in financial services working in the building society and insurance sectors.
David is married with two children and lives in Warwickshire. |

Simon Whitwham – Customer Service Director

 Simon joined the Society in November 2001 and is responsible for the Society’s Customer Service Centre, Lending Centre and Business Information Systems functions.
A History and Politics graduate, Simon was previously Mortgage Underwriting and Processing Manager at the Coventry Building Society, developing mortgage processing capabilities and customer service standards.
He is a director of the Society’s mortgage subsidiary, Stroud and Swindon Mortgage Company Limited.
Married with one child, Simon lives in Gloucestershire. |

| Paul Chafer – Commercial Director |
|
 Paul joined the Society as Sales Director in April 2006. Previously he was with the Royal Mail where he was Head of Sales. Prior to that Paul was Head of Retail at the Staffordshire Building Society and was responsible for development of Portman Direct when the two building societies merged in 2004.
Paul lives in Shropshire with his wife and daughter. |

| Kit Beazley – Finance Director |
|
|
 Kit joined the Society as Finance Director in April 2006. He qualified with Price Waterhouse and then worked for Chartered Trust before joining Zurich Financial Services where he was responsible for capital and treasury management, credit management and accounting operations across their UK Business.
Kit lives in Malmesbury with his wife and family. |
