New Two-Year Fixed Rate Mortgage at 5.34%

Stroud & Swindon, the UK’s 15th largest building society today announced the launch of a new two-year fixed-rate deal at 5.34%.

The new product will be available via the website (www.stroudandswindon.co.uk), Stroud and Swindon branches and agencies. This competitive new deal is available for both existing borrowers and those seeking to remortgage their property.

The product has a maximum loan to value of 90% and early repayment charges of 2% until 31 July 2009. In addition, consumers who use this product to remortgage their home will have their solicitor and valuation fees paid by the Society.

2 Year Fixed Rate Mortgage:
  • Early Repayment Charge of 2% until 31 July 2009, completion fee (£250) and reservation fee (£249).
  • Maximum loan to value (90%)
  • Minimum loan value on property purchase (£16,000), remortgages (£26,000) and additional borrowing (£1,000)
  • Maximum loan on property purchase and remortgages (£500,000)
  • Free valuation and basic legal fees only for remortgages up to £600,000
  • Valuations and legal fees are payable on House Purchases
  • Customers switching from existing mortgage arrangements are required to pay a £249 reservation fee (payable upfront) and a £250 completion fee.  Additional borrowing at the same time incurs no additional charge.
  • Existing customers looking at additional borrowing only, will have to pay a £120 completion fee and a £249 reservation fee.
