What is an RSS feed?
RSS stands for 'Really Simple Syndication'. RSS feeds allow you to be kept up to date with new articles as soon as they are published without constantly having to check the website. You can see the headlines together in one place as soon as they are published.
How do I use the Stroud & Swindon RSS Feed?
In order to do this you will need a 'News/RSS reader'.
The latest versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox and some other browsers already have built in RSS support. Other readers are available as a separate program, or a web-based service such as
Google,
My Yahoo,
Newsgator or
Bloglines
All readers will let you subscribe to RSS feeds from other sites too. It will then automatically check those feeds on a regular basis, and will display any news that has been added.
