Stroud and Swindon Building Society has just launched the Willow Trust Savings account.
Offering the same terms and conditions as its popular Branch Instant Savings account, the new version provides the added bonus of making a donation to charity based on average balances throughout the year.
The Willow Trust provides river boat trips to seriously ill or disabled people of all ages. Based at Saul Junction on the Gloucester to Sharpness canal, the charity organised trips for over 7,000 people last year and makes no charge for the service it provides. Stroud and Swindon has adopted the Willow Trust as its corporate charity for 2003 and will pay an amount equivalent to 1% of the average balances in the new account at the end of the year. This payment is guaranteed to continue until 2006.
Savings Account Manager at the Stroud and Swindon said, "We are delighted to offer this version of our popular branch instant account and hope that customers in the locality will support this valuable cause by opening many new accounts. I look forward over the next three years to presenting several large cheques to the Willow Trust."
