Society Announces Board Changes
11 August 2009: The Board of the Stroud & Swindon Building Society announces that David Hill, who has been with the Society for over 9 years and Chief Executive for the last 4, has decided to leave the Society at the end of August 2009.
David Hill has overseen a period of considerable progress at the Stroud & Swindon and has been instrumental in both guiding the Society through the turbulence of the last 18 months and repositioning it for the challenges in the financial services market that are likely to persist in the medium term.
Commenting on his decision David Hill said ”Having experienced the changes in the sector over the last couple of years and taken the necessary actions that will ensure the Society continues to have a successful and independent future I feel the time is right to move on and let someone else oversee the next stage of the Society’s development. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Stroud & Swindon and I wish all my colleagues continued success”.
Chairman of the Society, Laurence James, paid tribute to David Hill’s “commitment and contribution to the Society over the past nine years”. He added: “David is a well respected business leader with the highest level of integrity and ability. On behalf of the Board and members of the Society, I would like to thank him for all he has done and wish him well for the future”.
